Kate Upton incendia las redes tras criticar a quienes protestan en la NFL

Nueva York.- La supermodelo Kate Upton criticó a los cuatrojugadores de los Dolphins de Miami que se arrodillaron durante elhimno nacional, escribiendo en Instagram que sus acciones eran "unadeshonra a aquellas personas que han servido y actualmente sirven anuestro país".

Los cuatro jugadores, Arian Foster, Jelani Jenkins, MichaelThomas y Kenny Stills, se hincaron sobre la rodilla derechamientras sonaba el himno antes del partido que los Dolphinsperdieron 12-10 ante los Seahawks el domingo en Seattle.

Su decisión de no pararse durante el himno nacional fue la másreciente en una serie de protestas de deportistas profesionales ensemanas recientes, que comenzaron con el quarterback de los 49ersde San Francisco Colin Kaepernick el mes pasado en lapretemporada.

In myopinion, the national anthem is a symbolic song about our country.It represents honoring the many brave men and women who sacrificeand have sacrificed their lives each and every single day toprotect our freedom. Sitting or kneeling down during the nationalanthem is a disgrace to those people who have served and currentlyserve our country. Sitting down during the national anthem onSeptember 11th is even more horrific. Protest all you want and usesocial media all you want. However, during the nearly two minuteswhen that song is playing, I believe everyone should put theirhands on their heart and be proud of our country for we are alltruly blessed. Recent history has shown that it is a place whereanyone no matter what race or gender has the potential to becomePresident of the United States. We live in the most special placein the world and should be thankful. After the song is over, Iwould encourage everyone to please use the podium they have, standup for their beliefs, and make America a better place. Therebuilding of battery park and the freedom tower demonstrates thatamazing things can be done in this country when we work togethertowards a common goal. It is a shame how quickly we have forgottenthis as a society. Today we are more divided then ever before. Icould never imagine multiple people sitting down during thenational anthem on the September 11th anniversary. The lessons of911 should teach us that if we come together, the world can be abetter and more peaceful place #neverforget.
